3D Wire Sculpture

Seeing Form

Objectives:
Sketch 10 sculpture ideas based off of five different forms in sketch pan.
Construct free standing sculpture out of wire.
Create movement around sculpture using line.
Critique peers sculpture at halfway point and finished product.

Procedure:
Look at the different lines that your objects have. What makes them interesting? What carries
your eye around the form? What is the general shape your object takes on? (Ex: a toy train
might take on a rectangular shape in its simplest form)

Choose 2-3 objects from your pile to combine in a draft by including different lines from each
form.

When you are thinking about creating a sculpture you want the viewer explore all around the
entire piece. For this project line should be carrying your viewer around, through, or up and
down your piece.

When you sketch your drafts think about the whole sculpture and what will be the main focus or
where you want our viewers eye to start and to end.
