American lobsters belongs to the category of Invertebrata with two large claws which

are unequal in size(one is stronger and one is sharper),it has 10 legs.The American
lobster many ties reaches a weight of 20kg.and is the largest crustacean of the
world.These lobsters are found in olive green or greenish brown color.These lobsters
are mostly found in the northwest Atlantic ocean.Most of these lobsters live on the
ocean floor and are territorial.lobsters found at the coast are attracted towards the
rocky areas so that they can find shelter.small lobsters cant travel much but the long
lobsters in the spring migrate anywhere from 50 to 90 miles.At the daytime these
lobsters remain in their rocky shelter during the night these are more active and move
in search of prey.these lobsters support a massive fishery in the northwestern Atlantic
ocean.these lobsters have a long life but according to research it has found that they
may live upto 100 years.These lobsters molt around 20 to 25 times over a period of 5
to 8 years, female lobsters can lay 5000 to 100000 eggs depending on their
size.American lobsters are mild and sweet in taste and the color of meet is white with
red tinges. Many successful management regulations have been applied to ensure that
the fishery will continue to be viable into the future. These include size limits, gear
limits, and other management techniques.
