The Summer Music Camp, sponsored by the Reno
Pops Orchestra, is open to students who are proficient
on an instrument; from beginners with one years
experience to advanced high school and pre-college
students.
Camp History
2017 marks 21 years of this summer strings, band,
and jazz camp. Students of all ages come together to
make music. Younger students have the privilege of
sitting next to high school students, while high school
students can work with more experienced musicians,
like college students, music teachers, as well as pro-
fessional musicians.
Partners in Education
The Reno Pops Orchestra and the Washoe County
School District have formed a partnership through
the Partners in Education program to enable this
fine camp to continue to thrive and grow.
Camp Sessions
Classes will be offered during three sessions held daily,
9:00AM - 2:00PM, Monday through Friday. Campers
will audition the first day of camp to place them in the
appropriate ensembles.
Campers may attend one session or many, all for the
same low fee. Class availability is subject to change based
on enrollment.
