independently based on their leveled texts, then take
turns sharing their responses with the group.

*Literacy Centers: Have students complete the booklet

to match an assigned text OR a text of their choice
during literacy centers.

*Whole Group: Have students complete the booklet to

accompany your weekly main selection or read
aloud

*Shared Reading: Have students highlight each

element in a short shared reading piece (on paper or
on Interactive Whiteboard) before transferring ideas
to their booklets.
