TUTORING ACTIVITY PLAN for Andrew N.

Tutoring Time: 1 hours

ELA Objectives (for St. Agnes student):


Decode new words
Understand the meaning of words
Understand how words are related

Describe the activity in each section and indicate high/low technology being used for each part of the activity:

Warm-up (2 min) The student will be given 5 cvc words from 5 different word
families that he will have to use to generate 3 new rhyming
words.

Pre-Test (5 min) The student will complete a word sort from ReadWriteThink (
http://www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/wordfa
mily/ ) based on the vowel sounds in the middle of the word.
These words will also rhyme. The student will have mastered the
skill when he correctly sorts eight words.

Review of Prior The student and tutors will review what it means to rhyme and
