Lesson idea implementation:

Teacher will introduce the lesson about Living and Non-Living things by asking them questions. What are
living things? What are non-living things? How do we know the difference between living and non- living
things? I will begin with an anchor chart that explains the difference between living things and non-living
things. It will consist of the main components of what makes things living.
After introducing living and non-living things and doing the anchor chart, I will introduce Inspiration.
Teacher will explain to students that Inspiration is going to help us categorize living and non-living things into
the correct category. Students will see that all the living things all have the main components needed to be
living. Teacher will click on the boy to re-direct us to a video that shows us the main components of living
things. Students then will get a cut and paste sheet where they will have to categorize into living and non-
living things. Inspiration will be still be displayed so students can use it as a guide for their cut and paste
sheet. I will extend the students learning to a higher learning level by providing the students with an
opportunity to use Inspiration once they finished their cut and paste sheet. They will be able to use the
anchor chart that has the main components of what makes things living to help them create their own
Inspiration.
