    High School Summer School Information


    June 13, 2017

    Greetings TYWLS Families,

    As the end of the school year is approaching and plans for summer school have been confirmed, the following
    information is extremely important for you and your child:

    General Information
    The Assistant Principal in charge of Summer in the City (Summer School 2017) is Mr. George Diaz.
    All High School Summer School classes will be given at Hillcrest High School located at 160-05 Highland
    Ave, Jamaica, NY 11432. The contact number at this school is 718-658-5407.
    Metrocards will be provided at Hillcrest High School. If a student misplaces her metrocard, she must inform a
    staff member at Hillcrest H.S in order to receive a new one.
    Hillcrest H.S is a scanning school; all students and any visiting adult must go through scanning before entering
    the building.
    The Hillcrest H.S Library will be accessible for students from 8:15am 12:45pm.
    Cell phones will be confiscated if disruptive.

    Registration & Schedule


    All students will be registered for summer classes by their TYWLS School Counselor. Classes run from
    Monday Friday.
    Summer School begins on July 5th and ends on August 15th.
    o 1st period: 8:15am 10:30am
    o 2nd period: 10:30am 12:45pm

    Attendance
    All students must arrive on time. If any student arrives 30 minutes after the period begins, they will not be
    allowed into the classroom.
    54 hours are required in order to fulfill course requirements. Maximum of 2 excused absences are permitted.
    Please note: vacations are not considered excused absences.

    An information session will be held on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 1pm. Families and their daughters are encouraged to
    attend to gain further information.
