Roberts Runs for Re-Election

Shows Early Grassroots Endorsement Strength

HOUSTON Kevin Roberts, Texas State Representative for District 126,

representing an area of northwest Harris County including parts of the Cypress-
Fairbanks, Klein, Tomball area, announced his re-election bid for the 2018 GOP
Primary.

Since my return to the district, Ive heard three things repeated over and over,
Roberts said. One my constituents were genuinely pleased with my performance
during this Session and my success at passing good legislation. Two the
community is anxious for the Special Session where Governor Abbott has laid out a
bold agenda of conservative issues for the Texas Legislature to address. Three the
voters are asking me to run for re-election in 2018.

I am announcing that I will be a candidate for re-election for Texas State

Representative, District 126, in the 2018 Republican Primary.

Roberts was successful in passing three bills he authored that have all been signed
by Governor Abbott: HB871 addressing faith based solutions to foster care and CPS
reforms, and HB1290 designed to reduce the burden of regulation on all Texans, and
HB2130 establishing a review of testing requirements for special education
students. Additionally, the Governor signed seven bills Roberts Co-Authored or Co-
Sponsored dealing with general appropriations, sanctuary cities, voter-ID,
government contracting with foreign enemies, and reducing license-to-carry fees.

Back at home, Ive personally spoken with nearly 75 percent of my Republican

Party Precinct Chairs and have earned the personal endorsements of each. Im
proud to also announce the endorsements of my Republican SD Chair David Riddle
and my SREC Committeeman Mark Ramsey. This early demonstration of grassroots
strength is a terrific foundation upon which to build for our re-election campaign,
Roberts concluded.

The 85th Regular Session concluded on May 29 and Governor Abbotts First Called
Special Session is scheduled to begin July 18.
