weapon that deals piercing or slashing damage can bypass
most aberrations deenses. Poison is ofen ineective, and
aberrations have immunities and
resistances to various types o energy
attacksparticularly acid. Nearly all
aberrations have good Will saves, and the
minds o some aberrations are too alien or
mind-aecting eects to be o any use.

SLAYING ABERRATIONS
While the advice above covers the most common
hurdles o ghting aberrations, sometimes aberration
hunters must adapt or specic oes.
Common Aberrations: Chokers are stealthy ambush
predators that ofen strike stragglers, so monster hunters
who stay close together can mitigate a chokers chances
o snatching up an ally. Mimics are iconic masters o
disguise, so when hunting mimics or adventuring in
a mimic-inested area, usedetect aberrationAPG, detect
thoughts, and divinations to sense them
rst. Rust monsters are largely harmless
to people, but they can easily destroy
armor, weapons, and other metal objects.
