I evere Local Schools Hillcrest Elementary School 3080 Revere Road - Richfield, Ohio 44286 To Whom It May Concern: 3/20/17 Itis my pleasure to recommend Miss Shelly Levitsky for a teaching position. Miss Levitsky has been a long term sub for over 2 years at our school, Hillerest Elementary at Revere Local School district. The first year, winter 2016, she was a long term sub for a first grade classroom for over 6 months. Miss Levitsky did such a fantastic job teaching first grade, that was hired her this year to teach 2nd grade for a teacher who went on maternity leave for almost the entire 2016-17 school year. We would love to offer her a full time job next year, however unfortunately we have no foreseeable openings. Miss Levitsky is did a wonderful job working for us. She is a kind, positive, hard-working teacher. As her OTES evaluator, I can say she really knows how to make connections with students. For example, there is a student who she made a real connection with last year. T student comes and visits Miss Levitsky every day before she leaves school. Miss Levitsky also does an excellent job differentiating her teaching, She runs a center based approach for reading and math in her classroom. Afier her direct instruction lesson, students visit centers based on their ability levels. She meets with students in small groups often and teaches students at their ability in each group. She also differentiates her assessments. Shelly had a few students who were struggling and she took them through the RTI process to find them extra help and put many interventions in place to help them succeed in second grade. Miss Levitsky participated in Open House, parent - teacher conferences, complete report cards, created comprehensive lesson plans, created a google classroom and completed all the requirements of a classroom teacher. Miss Levitsky attends staff meetings, grade level meeting, curriculum mapping sessions and google classroom training. Parents, staff and student just love Miss Levitsky and so does the administration of the building. is We will be sad to see her go, but would wish her, a classroom of her own. It is obvious to me that Miss Levitsky loves working with kids and is an excellent teacher. Miss Levitsky would be an asset to any school district.
