Cabinet gives in principle approval for disinvestment of Air India and ve of its subsidiaries

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its
approvaltofourthtrancherecommendationsofNITIAayogonstrategicdisinvestmentofCPSE(strategicdisinvestmentof
AirIndiaandfiveofitssubsidiaries)basedontherecommendationsofCoreGroupofSecretariesonDisinvestment(CGD).

(i)InprincipleapprovalforconsideringstrategicdisinvestmentofAirIndiaandfiveofitssubsidiaries.

(ii) Constitution of an Air IndiaspecificAlternative Mechanism headed by Minister of Finance including
MinisterforCivilAviationandsuchotherMinister(s)toguidetheprocessonstrategicdisinvestmentfrom
timetotimeanddecidethefollowing:

a.TreatmentofunsustainabledebtofAirIndia
b.Hivingoffofcertainassetstoashellcompany
c.Demergerandstrategicdisinvestmentofthreeprofitmakingsubsidiaries
d.Thequantumofdisinvestmentand
e.Theuniverseofbidders.
