How do you describe your son?

My son is very active, talkative and a sensitive child who is a fast learner
and also he likes singing and dancing.

Can you tell us about yourself?

I am Samantha Rathnasiri. I work as an electrical engineer at Kotmale
power station for CEB. In the mean time I also conduct visiting lectures
at two private institutions. I have obtained my basic degree from
Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka, and I completed MSc degree in
Telecommunication from University of Moratuwa. I got my charter two
years ago.

What do you do at the power station?

I am responsible for the operation and maintenance of Nillambe power
station which is under the authority of Chief Engineer Kotmale Power
station.

I am a stay at home parent. I studied at Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo
and I obtained my first degree from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, In
addition, I completed a degree in Chemistry at College of Chemical
Sciences. Also, I have obtained a post graduate diploma in Education at
the University of Colombo. Previously I worked as a teacher in a
government school in Colombo and I resigned from that job about 03
years ago and moved here to take a good care of our son and be together
as a family as my husband worked at Kotmale area.
Why did you leave your Job?
We understand that when both parents are employed, the care and the
guidance received by the child are not up to the satisfactory level. The
first few years of the childs life are the most important because the
knowledge and experience they gather at that time mold the children in
to who they really are in the future. So we decided make him a good
environment by being with him closely.
