To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing this letter of recommendation as the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Student
Teaching Supervisor for Kaitlyn Nieman.
It has been my absolute pleasure to observe Kaitlyn in her classroom at Einstein Middle School
this semester. From the beginning, Kaitlyn has exhibited a high degree of professional
commitment to her position as a teacher of Middle School English. She is well-organized in her
approach to both creating lessons and presenting that material to her students. She has a solid
understanding of her material and communicates this well. Students are responsive to her and
she shows both a respect for and a genuine enjoyment of them.
I am particularly impressed with Kaitlyn's personal presence and her professional skills. She has
taken on not only the traditional duties of a student teacher, but has shown initiative in taking
on the larger duties of a classroom teacher as well, dealing with hard discipline issues and
making the phone calls home to get students back on track. She has easily fit into the staff at
Einstein and the teachers and administrators whom I have talked with are enthusiastic about
her work.
Personally, my highest recommendation for a student teacher is that I would want her as a
colleague. In Kaitlyn's case, the answer is that I would and as a result, I would recommend
Kaitlyn Nieman without reservation to you as a real asset for your school district and staff.
