SoftConsole - Overview
SoftConsole is the PC-based Windows receptionist application for IP Office. It can
be purchased with the Receptionist user license

Receptionist License
IP Office SoftConsole requires entry of at least 1 Receptionist license into the IP Office
system configuration.
For Essential and Preferred Edition systems, you can license up to 4
simultaneous IP Office SoftConsole users.
For Server Edition systems, you can license up to 32 simultaneous users.
For IP Office Select mode, that increases to 50 simultaneous users.
Up to 10 simultaneous users are supported on each Linux based server node,
include expansion nodes, in the network.
Up to 4 simultaneous users are supported on each IP500 V2 expansion nodes in
the network.
An instances of this license is only consumed when the user is using the
application.
For Essential and Preferred Edition systems in a Small Community network, if the
user hot desks to another system, that system requires an available license in its
configuration.

Logging In
You must login to IP Office SoftConsole before you can use the application.
The Login window contains details so that IP Office SoftConsole can communicate
with the telephone system.

The Main Window
In normal view mode,
the console screen is

Viewing the Call History
To view the call history: Click View | History.
The Call History details replace the BLF and Held Calls panels.

Avaya Communicator Overview
Avaya Communicator provides enterprise users with simple access to all the
communication channels in a single interface.
Avaya Communicator enables you to log into your company IP Office server and
make and receive, voice and video calls.
Avaya Communicator is only supported on the IP Office IP500v2 Essential and IP
Office Server Edition platforms.

Built-in VoIP Client Codec Preferences
Codec preferences based on network type
With Separate selection for Wi-Fi vs. Mobile
Ability to enable/disable codecs and change the
selection order
High bandwidth codecs for higher audio quality at
the expense of higher bandwidth use (e.g. G.722)
Narrowband codecs for smaller bandwidth with less
audio quality (e.g. G.729B)

Built-in VoIP Client Networking Info
By default, VoIP Client uses TLS on port 5061.
Although TLS can be disabled in favor of TCP, this is not advisable as this is
known to cause connection issues on some phones.
Setting is found under Menu > Voice Over IP > Secure Connection.

Troubleshooting Connection Status Icon
The app uses the connection status icon in the Android notification bar to indicate
connection issues. Red or yellow icon indicates trouble.
Clicking the Trouble icon ( ) in the app will show a popup revealing more
information about the nature of the problem.

Codec and packetization interval
Negotiated RFC2833 payload typt
Local and remote media addressing
RX/TX packets/byte counters
Jitter, Loss and RTT (round trip time)
Counters updated every second
Useful for advanced audio analysis
RX counters not incrementing > no media packets
arriving at the device
High jitter/loss/RTT > choppy audio
RFC2833 is 0 DTMF not working
