Famous Scientist Research
Cereal Box Presentation
1. Get an empty cereal box and redesign the box to honor your Famous Scientist.
2. Cover your box with construction paper, wrapping paper, or some other material.
3. Design the front of the box so that it includes the NAME of your famous scientist
(name of your cereal), an appropriately-sized PICTURE of your scientists, any
SLOGAN, CATCH-PHRASES, or advertising gimmicks that might entice someone to
purchase your famous scientist cereal.
*You may print pictures from the Internet to use on your box (make sure you
have citied the website where you got your picture).
4. Design the back of the box with the major research you conducted on your scientist.
Information should include three major facts about the person or event in his/her life,
major contributions the scientist made to benefit us, and anything else that you want us
to know about the scientist.
5. Design a side panel so it includes some random trivial facts about your scientist
birth and death date, country where he/she was born, where they went to school (if
applicable), what type of science he/she studied.
6. Design a side panel to explain a major event that happened in your scientist life. An
example would be World War, the Great Depression, another major invention, etc.
7. Design the box top to include the major scientific discovery made by your scientist. If
there is more than one, you can include all of them or pick the discovery for which
he/she is most known. It should be a grabber to make your reader interested in your
information on the back of your box.
8. Design the box bottom so it includes your name, your class period, and a list of any
and all sources you used during your research.
**This project needs to be done neatly with correct spelling, grammar, etc. You may type all the
information to be used on your cereal box. The finished product should look as appealing as a
professionally-designed cereal box (within reason).
