JOB APPLICATION AND CAREER IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

DURATION: 20 hours/ 2 hours per session (10 days)

OBJECTIVES: This curriculum is designed to help learners achieve their


desired job as well as to let them be involved in learning experiences which will
help them discover their own values, needs and to develop the skills which
willghts with the class.

DAY 1: Who am I?
Life Mapping
*Help participants gain an understanding oftheir needs,
interests and values, and to assess their skills and experiences that
would help them in gaining employment

*This lesson will help participants explore their values by:


2) opening discussion about the area of valuesgetting the
participants to begin thinking about value-related things
and sharing those thouughts and feelings in a non-
judgmental way,and
3) helping participants to do additional probing into their
values and clarifying how their values translate into action
in their lives

DAY 2: Whats Important to Me in a Job?

Vocational Aptitude Testing
*At this point it should be useful for participants to
complete some sort ofstructured assessment to help them focus on
what occupations they might have the interest and aptitude to pursue

DAY 3: SETTING GOALS


JOB LIST
* will focus on where each participant wants to be.
The objective of this lesson is to have participants:
1) understand what a goal is and the four criteria ofa
R.E.A.L.goal
2) set a short term and long term goal for themselves
that meets the criteria for a R.E.A.L.goal
