European Individual Speedway

at Gstrow (Germany) - Preview

This weekend the track of Gstrow, in Germany, is going to

host the second final of the European Individual Speedway
Championship.
The first final was at the Motorena of Torun, in Poland, where
Jarosaw Hampel started as a wild card and won in front of
Vaclav Milik and Andrei Lebedev.
The final was held in bad weather conditions: the organizers
had to cancel the practice due to rainfall. Luckly, the track
was good enough to start the competition at 19:00. At last,
fans watched an exciting show.
The first heat showed how important Speedway European Championship really is for riders. Rus-
sian Grigorij Laguta, from the second gate, did not manage to control the pressure and broke
the tape. Therefore, Pawe Przedpeski had a chance to start in his hometown in SEC. At the
end, he finished the race second, behind Artem Laguta. In heat 3, the spectators saw a beautiful
fight between Andreas Jonsson and Przemysaw Pawlicki. At the finish line the Swede was faster,
but it was confirmed at the photo-finish. The first set was not successful for Martin Smolinski.
The German rider was the first at the start, but in the field all rivals overtook him.
The second set divided the riders into two groups those who would fight for the win, and those
who did not find optimal setups in Motoarena. Jarosaw Hampel and Valclav Milik were the fa-
stest guys at the start. Mateusz Szczepaniak was fast, too, and he showed it in fight against
Przemysaw Pawlicki until he did a mistake at the second turn.
