Resources: Story A4 flashcards, Story filmstrip

Place the A4 flashcards around the room-on the board, on the walls, on the floor. Divide the class into teams.

Say a sentence from the story in the order events take place. In turn, a member of each team runs and touches (or stands next
to) the correct flashcard.

Now give each team a set of story flashcards and ask them to put them into the correct order. (If you have 18 children in your
class, divide the children into two halves and give each half a set of cards to distribute, one each, amongst themselves. They
now have to stand in the order of the story.)
Hand out the Story filmstrip and ask your children to number the pictures in the correct order.

As an extension activity, elicit which picture is missing (Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma and the woodcutter having a party).
Ask the children to draw a picture to illustrate the ending of the story-it may be a party scene, or it may be the wolf running
back to its mum in the wood, whatever your children decide!
