FALLEN
EMOTIONS
INTRODUCTION
The title of my magnum opus is FALLEN EMOTIONS
because it signifies the sufferings, heartaches and sadness.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS OF THE POETRY:

WILLIAM CARLOS WILLIAMS (1883-1963) -He born in Rutherford,

New Jersey, eventually settled in his home town to practice his twin
professions, pediatrics and poetry. He once said Anything that the poet
can lift from its dull bed by force of imagination becomes his material.
Anything Winter Trees uses the rhythms of everyday speech to
describe a familiar scene in a fresh and imaginative way.

ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON (1809-1892)- He was born into the large

family of an English minister. He eventually became the most celebrated
poet of Victorian England and was named poet LAUREATE. In The
Eagle Tennyson creates a starkly powerful picture of a majestic
creature.

EDGAR ALLAN POE (1809-1849)- He born to a family of actors,

established himself as an important figure on the American Literary
scene with his short stories and poetry. However, his personal life was
full of conflict and sadness. In Eldorado he tells of a quest for an ideal
world.

DISCUSSION
WINTER TREES
By: William Carlos Williams

All the complicated details

of the attiring and
the disattiring are completed!
A liquid moon
moves gently among
the long branches.
Thus having prepared their buds
against a sure winter.
the wise trees
stand sleeping in the cold.
Reflection:
In this poem it signifies that the persona
of this poem is poured with sadness
because on the 9th and 10th stanza refers
to a persons who alone on the cold night.
THE EAGLE
By: Alfred, Lord Tennyson

He clasps the crag with crooked hands,

Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;

He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
REFLECTION:
It signifies that the persona of this poem
is intense of sadness. On that poem Eagle
signifies a person whose strong but he
also fail, he falls like a thunderbolt.
ELDORADO
By: Edgar Allan Poe

Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song
In search of Eldorado.

But he grew old-

This is knight so bold-
And oer his heart a shadow
Fell, as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.

And, as his strength

Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
Shadow, said he,
Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?

Over the Mountains

Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride.
The shade replied,-
If you seek for Eldorado!
REFLECTION:
It signifies that the persona of the poem
is poured with sadness emotion. It
conveys that looking for treasure is quite
useless. Everything in this world should
work for hardship.
