Major Announcement by Vicky Hartzler

(Harrisonville) Today, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler made the following announcement:
After much prayer and discussion with my family I have decided to seek re-election to the
United States House of Representatives. I love the great people of the 4th Congressional District
and feel honored to be their voice in Washington. I believe the best way to continue to serve
them is by taking their common-sense ideas and Heartland values to Washington.
I appreciate all of the kind words of encouragement over the last few weeks from people all
over our state. I did what you asked. I and my family took a hard look and prayed faithfully
about running for the United States Senate. While I am honored by the support Ive received, it
is my belief this race is for another solid conservative to pursue and win in 2018.
I believe my focus needs to be on rebuilding and restoring our national defense, getting our
economy moving again, and fixing a broken Washington for the hardworking people of our
state in my current role should the good people of this district give me this honor again. While
we are moving in the right direction, there is much to be done. I believe our future is bright and
I look forward to working alongside our conservative Senate nominee to restore the American
Dream for all Missourians.
Vicky Hartzler lives with her husband, Lowell, and daughter, Tiffany, on a working farm in Cass
County. In her fourth term in the House of Representatives, Hartzler serves as the Chairwoman
of the House Armed Services Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee, is a senior member of
the House Agriculture Committee, and Chairwoman of the House Values Action Team.

Vicky Hartzler was elected as Representative for Missouris 4th Congressional District in 2010
and re-elected in 2012, 2014 and 2016. Prior to serving in Congress she taught family and
consumer sciences for 11 years in Lebanon and Belton, Missouri, and was elected to political
office in 1994 as State Representative for Missouris 124th District serving six years as a member
of the Missouri legislature.
