Educator Standards
Standard One: Instructional Planning and Delivery Promote complex discussions and activities,
using technology and making instruction relevant for todays learners. Design lessons to meet the
needs of diverse learners including implementation of IEP.
Standard Two: Knowledge of Students and Student Learning Teachers facilitate students
learning by using evidence-based practices combines with background information to engage
students. Teachers demonstrate belief that all students are capable of achieving at high levels and
support all students in their pursuit of success.
Standard Three: Content Knowledge and Expertise Teachers make appropriate and authentic
connections across disciplines, identifying gaps in students knowledge of content area. Teachers
are responsible for designing and implementing lessons that are consistent and that match the
objectives of state standards.
Standard Four: Learning Environment Teacher interacts with students in respectful ways at all
times, providing a supportive learning environment characterized by efficient and effective
routines. Teachers practice effective behavior management systems and cultivate student
ownership in developing classroom culture and norms.
Standard Five: Data-driven practices Teachers implement both formal and informal methods of
assessment, varying them to accommodate students learning needs. Also maintain open lines of
communication between students and parents to goals and progress are recognized and
understood by all parties. Teachers develop a holistic picture of students strengths and learning
needs, and differentiate their teaching practices to improve learning based on assessment
outcomes.
