INTRODUCTION

Background of the study

Researcher has chosen to conduct a research The Relationship between

Communication Skills and Organizational Performance in Permodalan Nasional

Berhad (PNB) Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. Researcher selects this topic to

identify the factors of communication skills among employees and to identify the

ways to improve their communication skills in order to enhance organizational

performance in PNB. The introduction topic includes the background of study,

problem statement, research objectives, significances of this study, definition of

terms, and limitation of the study. Developing communication skill is important

because of the globally revolution in the world nowadays. In align with this

globalization, organizations as well as PNB are compulsory to develop

communication skills to compete with the new environment.

Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) is Malaysias biggest fund management

company. The main headquarters is located at Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. PNB

is the parent company for Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) which operates a

number of unit trust schemes and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yayasan Pelaburan

Bumiputera. The company has foreign offices in Singapore, London and Tokyo.

Therefore, being able to communicate effectively is the most crucial skill in PNB.
