Introduction

Choosing an appropriate lock is a vital component of maintaining security and privacy.

This projects purpose is to ease the management of locks by providing a keyless entry system
mainly focused on lockers and tables for office staff. Some companies that use the concept of
shift working hours would have their two or more staff to share the same desk. The staff will
have their own drawers or lockers with lock for privacy and security measure.
This project will replace the traditional locks that use key, with servos and Arduinos to
lock or unlock a particular drawer. Users are needed to touch their Near Field Communication
(NFC) cards at a reader to unlock their drawer or locker.
As clarification, Staff A and staff B will have two different keycards to unlock their
own drawers while the company management possesses a master keycard which can unlock
both.
Problem Statement
Stolen belongings and access without permission of drawer are the common problems
that occurs when we share our desk drawer with others. These issues usually happens to office
staff that share working desk. For example, Staff A and Staff B have a different working hours.
Staff A works on morning shift while Staff B is on evening. Both of them have to share a same
working desk but were given separate drawers with locks. The problem that is, one of them
may duplicate the key for the other drawers or even lock pick it. This shows that the traditional
lock is not that safe.
So, to overcome these problems, Smart AF Lock is invented. The Smart AF Lock is
much safer as it does not need any keys and gives lock picker zero chance of lock picking. The
two staff will be given a keycard to unlock their drawer. They only need to scan the keycard to
a reader and their drawer will be unlocked.
Objectives
Eases access to locks. Users just need to touch their keycards to an NFC reader to
unlock only their desks drawer or lockers.

Eases the management of keys for companies to control access to desks and lockers.
They will only need a master keycard to unlock all desk drawers and lockers in the
company, instead of having bunch of keys.

Keeping privacy and safety of belongings in drawers or lockers.

Eliminate broken key in locks problem.

locks as for keeping the privacies and security of its users. Smart AF Lock does not have any
keys and keyhole like the traditional locks which remove the possibility to be lock picked. Only
the legitimate owner and the management - of the drawer or locker can have access to it. .
Smart AF Lock uses the concept of one-time touch to unlock a drawer. To lock it, simply push

Conclusion
As conclusion, this report has identified a security system that helps the management
of a company and its staff keeping their privacy and security. The impact of this improvement
is expected based on the technology development to a wider range of users and its suitability
for a wider range of purposes such as in school or any other place that use simple locking
concept despite the focus of this project is on office staff.
