LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this lesson students will be familiar with the art elements of line and pattern,
how they are used in creating art and complete a handout.

Knowledge of line

LESSON TIMELINE:
2 minutes-Greet class and settle students at seats
1 minute- Assemble students to carpet area
8 minutes- Review element of line and introduce pattern
3 minutes- Introduce Elephant Pattern assignment students will begin next class
8 minutes- Read Elmer by David McKee
5 minutes- Discussion on pattern and line in book illustrations
6 minutes- Demonstrate drawing lines and patterns on portable white board
2 minutes- Explain handout instructions
3 minutes- Students return to seats, supplies and materials distributed
16 minutes- Students work on handout as teacher facilitates
5 minutes- Teacher collects students handouts and students reflect on activity
1 minutes-Students lined up and dismissed.
