Dear Angela,

Woodside Burgh Hall

I am writing to you in relation to the Woodside Burgh Hall, where I have been advised
by Aberdeen City Council that it is soon to be put on the open market for sale
(response dated 6 June 2017). This is a concerning move as I believe, along with
many local residents, that the hall is a highly valuable community asset.

The community have made strong representations to me as the local constituency

MSP, where I have been advised that the repair of the roof has thus far disallowed the
community from agreeing to take on the building, as they have seen covering the cost
as unachievable.

However, I would ask that you consider suspending the sale of Woodside Burgh Hall
whilst you investigate the opportunity for community asset transfer and whether this is
desirable and achievable, including the potential formation of a Friends of Woodside
Burgh Hall to ensure that the building is repaired and retained for community benefit.

I look forward to your response, the contents which I will share with members of the
Woodside community.

Yours sincerely

Mark McDonald MSP
