Hello Division 8A,

For most of us, summer has peaked and school is looming

over the horizon. Some of us, like myself, are absolutely ex-
cited for the upcoming school year; however, some of us
wish it lasted until Christmas. I hope you all have had an
amazing summer so far and are on track with your summer
reading. It may look like a little, but when you only have the
bus ride before school ride to complete it
Aside from completing your summer reading, dont forget
about Key Club! This is the time for recruiting new mem-
bers and getting some quality service hours in before your
days are limited. Asking a friend to come to your next Key
Club meeting or to your next service project is the perfect
way to show off that authentic Key Club pride!

Picture this: seven days of uplifting weather, beauti-
ful scenery, and amazing people. Having all three
on one place is a pretty impossible feat, or so I
thought before I attended this years International
Convention (ICON for short) in the historical San
Antonio, Texas, from July 5th to July 11th. The
Louisiana-Mississippi-Tennessee district included
time after the convention, rather to before or half
and half, for touring the city of San Antonio.
The best part of the convention was being able to
meet and talk to most of our leaders on the inter-
national level and peers from all over. Being able to
hear speeches from Devin Sun and William Simms,
past and current International Presidents, reinvig-
orated my Key Club spirit. I was also able to meet
most of the International Trustees, who have all
had incredible journeys and stories that has led to
being on the path of leadership.
Choosing the best part of the post-convention tour
was hard. Between going to the famous Schlitter-
bahn waterpark, enjoying time walking along the
Riverwalk, touring the historic Alamo, and spend-
ing time on a ranch, I enjoyed being on the ranch.
It brought me back to my rustic routes because of
the animals and the seclusion from the modern
world.
Overall, if youre looking to better yourself in any
way, whether it be as a Key Clubber or just a per-
son, ICON is the place for you. Gaining the oppor-
tunity to immerse yourself in an environment of so
many people of different cultures does not happen
often, and this experience is truly one to remember.
So, at this months PCM and committee meetings,
our team made several new decisions regarding Fall
