Equal Power because days falling
on either side/symmetrical around
0 degree solstice points share the
same amount of daylight.

Those crooked (shorter in

ascensional time in Northern
Hemisphere: Ar, Ta, Ge, Cp, Aq, Pi)
obey those ascending
directly (longer ascension in
North: Cn, Le, Vi, Li, Sc, Sa)

Cancer (longer) commands

Gemini (shorter) obeys

Ptolemy writes: the signs Aries to

Virgo are commanding, and
Libra to Pisces, obedient,
because the sun makes the day
longer than the night when he is
in the summer hemisphere, and
shorter in the winter. (In Northern
hemisphere, reverse for South)

Planets in antiscia and contra-antiscia are reflections (falling symmetrically) around the seasonal turning points. These (equidistant)
reflections take place along the ecliptic by tropical zodiacal degree, also called longitude. The ecliptic is the path of the sun, and we
could call these degrees the steps of the sun.

When we note placements by zodiac degree in a chart, we are projecting the planet or body onto the ecliptic; it may not actually
stand there. This is what many astrologers do with fixed stars as well, they project the body to the ecliptic. Bodies or points sharing
declination (meaning they share the same distance from the equator) are called parallel and contra-parallel (see next slide).

Planets in parallel (shown here) are not the same as planets in antiscia. Sometimes planets in antiscia are
also parallel (sharing the same declination from the equator), but often they are not. Planets in antiscia reflect
one another across the solstial axis by zodiacal degree along the ecliptic.

Planets or points in contra-parallel also share declination (shown here), however one point
is north while the other is south of the equator. Occasionally points in contra-antiscia are
also contra-parallel. Points in contra-antiscia always reflect each other by zodiacal degree
symmetrically around the equinox points.

A midpoint tree is a quick way to see antiscia and contra-antiscia in Solar Fire or other software programs that allow you to insert the 0 Aries Point:

go to Displayed Points under Reports

adjust Modulus to 90
choose Aries Point choose MidPoint Trees
