Note for Approval

In CPP 540 MW we have a total of 16 numbers of MV drives for ID fans and FD

fans which was kept in 8 separate rooms. As these rooms are in between ESP huge
amount of fly ash got accumulated In to the rooms and into drives which affects
the performance of the drive. Many of the drives got damaged due to dust
ingression. In order to protect the device from dust ingression we are proposing to
go for a service PR for the modification of the existing rooms to make it as dust
proof one.

Your kind approval is required to create service PR for the same.

Scope of work:

The final aim of the work is to maintain VFD room temperature below 25 Deg C at
maximum atmospheric temperature of 48 Deg C with zero dust ingress inside the
room. The below mentioned jobs may be carried out for the same. If any jobs
required which are not mentioned below are required to carry out to achieve the
result mentioned above, then those jobs also required to be done. Vendor can
have detailed site visit before submitting their techno commercial offer.

1. Vendor should calculate heat load generated by drives installed based on

the data provided by drive OEM.
2. Vendor should analysis atmospheric condition of rooms where VFD installed
and surrounding area and should suggest type of cooling and ventilation
methods that can be adopted based on same.
3. Should do required inspection for jobs to be done to make the VFD room
100% free from dust ingress.
4. After complete study, vendor should submit complete report with BOM
required carrying out complete job.
5. BALCO will decide on final scope of work based on best suitable
methodology received from various service providers and will circulate final
scope of work.
6. Based on that Service order will be placed.
