I suggest you bring the following to class on the first day and everyday
5 subject college ruled spiral notebook with pocket dividers or college ruled binder paper
A box of colored pencils (12-count box)
Homework, Chromebook and charger, a writing utensil and your textbook
Class expectations:
10% of your semester grade is based on Participation being on time, prepared, (this includes
having your fully charged Chromebook), and making a positive contribution to class in labs and
discussions.
Because class time is very valuable, each student will be given 3 hall passes per semester to be
used to leave the room during class. Once these passes have been used, the student may not
leave class.
Homework Expectations:
Homework is due at the beginning of each class, be ready with your homework out at class start.
If you are absent, the assignments you missed are due on the day you return unless your parent
or ST and myself work out a different due date in advance.
Assignments:
Expect homework to be assigned each night. This class will also include frequent labs and
occasional dissections.
A test will be given periodically at the end of each chapter. Test corrections are allowed on tests
with a grade below 75% and are due on the class day after the test is returned. Corrections earn
half credit.
Projects and Formal Lab Reports will be assigned periodically and will count as a test grade.
Pathways:
Check Pathways daily to see your homework assignments and grades.
Pathways Grading codes: MI (missing counts as a 0 until turned in), AB (absent counts as a 0
until turned in), TI (turned in but not graded yet, does not impact your grade)
Plagiarism Policy:
If I find that your work is not in your own words or that you have copied answers from a classmate, you will
not receive credit for the original assignment. You will be expected to re-do the assignment for half credit. If
you and a classmate are caught sharing answers, you both will receive a zero on the assignment.

One last thing, I would really appreciate it if you could take a moment to tell me anything
that you think I should know about your student. For example, what are his/her talents,
hobbies, interests, strengths, or weaknesses. What should I know about your son or
daughter so I can help them have the most successful year possible?
