Vaginal administration leads to variable absorption since
the vagina is a physiologically and anatomically dynamic
organ that cause pH and membrane permeability to
charge over time. Theres also a tendency of some
dosage forms to be expelled after insertion into vagina.
Rectal administration is given for a local effect or to
acheive a systemic effect.

Bisaodyl suppositories are a stimulant laxative. It
acts directly on the bowels , stimulating the bowel
muscle to cause a bowel movement.
Rhinacanthus nasutus extract has antimicrobrial
activities. So , it can be used for suppositories.However ,
the solution was not stable at pH 5.5 , 7.0 and 8.0 and
should keep in a well-closed container protected from
light.
Nano silver can be used for absorptive suppositories .
It also has antimicrobrial activities , but the silver
concentration must be sufficient to inhibit and kill any
bacteria.

9. PEG base




A hole forms at the open end when the
suppositories mass is contracting. its congealing This
gives an inelegant appearance to the suppository and
weight variation is also likely to occur. This problem can
be solved by pouring the suppository mass slightly
above its congealing temperation into a mold warmed to
about the same temperature.
