CONSERVATION
Coastal Resource Research and
Development Center have dedicated
their lives and careers to the research
and preservation of the whales living in
the gulf of Thailand.
However despite their efforts the whales
continue to be threatened by fishing
nets, plastic ingestion, habitat
degradation, underwater sound pollution,
and vessel strikes by boats and ships.
Drift Gill Nets
Other nets include Seine Nets, Lift Net &
Falling Net with light luring*
WHAT CAN WE DO?
EDUCATE OURSELVES
A secondary problem that has received limited research attention is media
influence on the wildlife trade, particularly animations featuring animals.
BE AWARE OF THE POLLUTION WE CREATE
Critically endangered, Spixs Macaw
One of the commonest criticisms of how the mass media communicate
conservation or biodiversity-related messages is that they may
misrepresent facts, inaccurately depict contents, or in some cases,
sensationalise.
