Improve your communication skills

People need to communicate and talk to other people. In order to improve your
communication skills and make yourself clear, you need to keep in mind some strategies:
1. Learn to listenif you dont listen, you simply cant be heard - when you speak to
someone, you have to listen to that person and demonstrate your full attention by listenting
without speaking in the same time or doing something else, keeping a flexible mind to others
ideas or listening to the whole message.
2. Have something important and useful to communicate in order to arouse interest and
have no difficulties in being heard, you should have something valuable and of high interest to
say to your audience.
3. Nurture your voice even if its an oral presentation, your discourse needs to be
structured, the words must be well articulated and you have to speak with conviction, by using
rhetorical questions.
4. Keep it short, keep it focused you should have a clear and focused message, using as
few words as possible.
5. Have a crystal-clear purpose you need to have a clear purpose of your message:
change information, expression of needs, understanding a task or some features of a product,
influence perceptions etc.
6. Get to know who youre talking to you should get your message tailored to your
audience in order to decide what you are going to say to get your point across.
7. Relax, focus more on the receiver focus on what the person you are speaking to
needs to hear and understand from your message.
8. Dont force it respect the beliefs of your audience and dont judge them if their
beliefs contradict the message you want to reach to.
