0. Abstract

The Ver.B cabinet and internal parts will be in the end of marketing (EOM). The BTS3900 Ver.D cabinet will
be sold to replace the Ver.B cabinet. This PCN is intended for customers using Huawei BTS3900 Ver.B cabinet.

The last date for purchase of the Ver.B cabinet is June 30, 2013 and the last date for supply of Ver.B cabinet
is December 31, 2013.

Note 1The spare parts of the Ver.D cabinet are different from the Ver.B cabinet. Therefore, a certain
quantity of spare parts of the Ver.B cabinet must be reserved for future use. The last order date of spare parts
is June 30, 2015 for Ver.B cabinet.

6. Categorization Basis

(1) Ver.B cabinet and parts will be in the EOM and be replaced by Ver.D.

(2) The new release improves the capacity of heat dissipation, power supply and distribution. The new
release has all the functions of current version and better performance, such as supporting RFU(2*80W)
modules and one DCDU for RRU inside DC input cabinet.

7. Change Description

(A) The change of the Ver. D cabinets

The changed parts include the cabinet mechanical part, fan tray, DCDU and power system.etc. The
external size is the same as old one.
The Ver.D cabinet improves the capacity of heat dissipation and power distribution. It has all the
functions of the Ver.B cabinet and better performance instead.
The cabinet version info can be acquired by OMC remotely or be seen on the nameplate in the
cabinet on site.

(B) The major changed parts from Ver.B to Ver.D cabinet

7.1 The change of cabinet mechanical part

(A) The size of handle is improved with more space for internal airflow and good UCD performance
still. Air-panel is added inside of cabinet.

(B) The cabinet is improved with no plinth as default. The cabinet can be installed directly to the
concrete ground like BTS3900L. There is 40mm height difference when the Ver.D cabinet without
plinth is installed beside the Ver.B cabinet with plinth.

(C) One DCDU for RRU can be installed into the spare space of BTS3900 DC Ver.D with the internal
cabling space improvement.

(D) The lock is changed for quick open. But the key is the same as the Ver.B.

(E) The file tray is cancelled in Ver.D cabinet to leave more space for future evolution.

7.2 The change of fan tray

(A) The fan tray is changed from FAN to FAN 03C with the change of internal fans and monitor
board. The heat dissipation is improved much for the fan box.

(B) The FAN 03C have the capacity of heat dissipation to support RFU(2*80W). The acoustic noise is
listed below.

(B) The enhance of DC distribution

Remark: There are three spare fuses of 30A in the right of new DCDU.
(C) The change of the input connection to support the parallel connection of 2 route 16mm2 cables.

(D) The change of output connectors to benefit installing. Plugging or unplugging the connector can
power on or off the load of the new version DCDU.

7.4 The change of DC power interface from customer and grounding cable.
Only when the Ver.D cabinet has more powerful RF configurations than Ver.B, the DC power interface
should be changed.
