Operatives ‘Two men crew 2.2 Supervision Works will be overseen by Consultant and the other by the Client if required. 3.0 PROCEDURE Page acts (sue Oe 01 2017 Trial Pits are to be excavated by Contractor to required depths by a Hand Excavation and will typically be 1.5m wide and approximately 1.5m long. Existing grassland vegetation needs to be cut and removed in the form of turves, and topsoil will be removed and kept away. Excavated soil shall be stacked at a suitable distance from the pit to ensure that the surface load does not endanger the stability of the pit sides. ‘Samples will be taken from the pit with photographs showing location and project details {or testing and logging purposes where itis considered safe to do so. ‘Supervision of the pit during excavation will be done. In areas where utilities are expected, scanning will be done using Cable Detector before & after excavation of trial pit to ensure that no underground utilities exist at the point of inspection, Extreme caution will be taken with all aspects of excavation, logging, sampling and photographing the trial pit operations. Required testing will be undertaken in specified pits according to the specification. The pit will remain open only for the duration of excavation, to the scheduled depth or shallower and to obtain descriptions of the strata and collect representative samples. Backfiling will be carried out immediately after above exercise and Engineer's instructions. All sub-soil excavated will be re-placed followed by top soil On completion, the pit and surrounding area will be left in a condition that is acceptable to the Engineer and the client RSI 1us/2017 7008 fue Wo. :02 [ferns OF 4.0 Work Force A team of suitably trained and experienced personnel have been allocated to the project in order to perform investigations. Investigation Scope The scope of the Investigation includes : i) ii) i) vy) vi) vil) viii ix) 3. Safety Secure permission from Authorities, (inc. Traffic Police) to obtain cores and cut out samples from selected location of the road under study. Make all necessary arrangements for the complete testing service (including but not limited to workspace lighting worker welfare, traffic management, temporary coning & signing, safety measures ete.) Drill the cores from existing roads at selected location as per Marked in drawing Assign identification number for each core. Obtain material from each cut out location and up to the depth of sub-grade. Materials shall be collected and identified separately for each layer. Reinstate the disturbed area (core and cut out locations) Carry out the required tests on obtained sample. Report the findings in Standard Format. Coring/ Cut out sampling shall be carried out by closing one lane or partial at location shown on attached, which shall also be agreed with the traffic police Safety requirements at site shall be followed as per requirements of the traffic police department. In general, sampling activities shall be in (but not be limited to) fast lane and slow lane, Works shall be planned for off-peak traffic periods. In case any planned location are sensitive, alternative location shall be agreed with the engineer and traffic police, Work shall be Musanada DC Abu Dhabi ‘ 2 6.5L D J vorsch Gruppe FE undertaken efficiently with minimum occupation time of the highway from opening to full reinstatements. Traffic safety precautions shall be determined by risk assessment and agreed with traffic Police (for example : Lane closure cones, mounted light arrow display with banks of flashing beacon lights, flag man etc.) Work safety precautions shall be undertaken appropriate to the task and equipment (as determined by risk assessment and internally signed of by Contractors Safety Officer) : Personnel Shall be equipped with proper PPE (High reflective Jackets, safety boots helmets etc) and. shall Wear necessary PPE when on site.
