Ascension Lily

Hippeastrum reginae
Description:
From the daffodil family. Waxy slender leaves from a bulb root.
1-4 distinctive orange-red flowers with a pale centre appear at the top of a tall
stem.
Flowering season The lily flowers twice a year in Spring and Autumn.
Height: 50-75 cm.
Habitat: Zone 5.
Lower slopes of Green Mountain, particularly Breakneck Valley.
Origin:
South America.
Other Issues:
This is the national flower for Ascension Island.
