RE: APPLICATION FOR THE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT AWARD

DATE: April 17, 2017

Dear colleagues,

Ad Majoriem de Gloriam!

In reference to the LIYAB Awards 2017, AIESEC in Davao humbly submits its application
for the Learning and Development Award. As explained, this Award goes to the entity that has
strongest HR capacity and AIESEC Davao is exactly that entity winning it for the last 2
consecutive years already. Below are the reasons why:

1.) Over-All Score in Organizational Health Matrix in the HR Area

a. 11 (See Attachment 1)

2.) Over-All Score in Programme Health Matrix

a. 2 (See Attachment 2)
While Davao only achieved 2 points in the Faster Area, this is precisely
because AIESEC Davao is the only Local Committee who is doing more than
100 exchanges this year. Davao has more applications to process than most
other LCs. The better process time of the other LCs (See Table 1 Below) therefore
do not necessarily mean that they absolutely have better process time or faster
than Davao. Moreover, considering that Davao processes many applications,
it is notable that Davao ranks as having one of the best process times.

Table 1
3.) The Best Performing Local Committee in terms of members accounted in EXPA both
in Absolute and Relative Growth ( See Attachment 3)

Since the last term, more people have been stepping up and actively taking on leadership
roles. They since have become more engaged in AIESEC and have been more willing to
participate and promote AIESEC physically and online. Overall, the productivity of the members
have increased and they have been more active since the last term. This is because the TM
department ensures that the members have personally been given clear job descriptions and are
given proper trainings by their VPs/TLs to ensure that they give quality output. The TM
department also ensures that they have assigned roles on EXPA so that they can be tracked more
efficiently by their VPs and the TM department. (See the testimonial of the Former Local Committee
Vice President for Talent Management of AIESEC Davao for the improvements she has seen as attachment
4)

In taking on leadership roles, there were 11 people who ran for the LCVP role and it paved
the way for other members to play a more active role in the organization by applying to become
TLs and OCs for AIESEC events in Davao. Also, AIESEC Davao during this term has expanded
to one more university, UP Mindanao, and increasing the chances and opportunities in
developing the youth to achieve Peace and Fulfilment of Humankinds Potential. It is now present
in 4 universities in Davao namely Ateneo de Davao, UP Mindanao and Mindanao Kokusai
Daigaku and University of SouthEastern Philippines.

God Bless!

The TM department has always been excelling beyond expectations. However, this term went more than that. It
deliberately assessed the situation wherein, first it saw how ineffective the recruitment process and with that had a
major change of the process which was effective in some way and was way better than the previous one. Second,
members were more involved in the tasks and activities of the LC. Last, each department was also performing beyond
expectations which clearly reflects what the TM department achieved for this term. - Jessa Velle Ituriaga (LCVP TM
Term 15-16)
