Socio-linguistics is the study about of the relationship between language and society.

There are many kinds of Socio-Linguistics :

1. Dialects is the language used by a group of speakers may also show systematic
differences called dialect.
2. Lingua franca is language used by many people from different areas, country, nation,
social, commercial,communication. Lingua franca also called a bridge language,
trade language, or vehicular language.
3. Styles are most speakers of a language know many dialects. They use one
dialects when out with friends, another when on a job interview or presenting a
report inn class, and another when talking to their parents. These situation dialects
are called styles.

Ex : bahasa daerah

4. Slang is informal language that usually used by young people or a particular social
group for internal communication an another people who not in that group cant
understand. Its seasonal. Ex: wanna and gonna.
5. Jargon or Argot is practically every concelvable science, profession, trade, and
occupation has its own set of words, some of which are considered to be slang and
others technical depending on the status of the people using thesein words are
sometime. Speakers may use different styles of their dialect depending on the
particular context. Slang is not often used in formal situations or writing, but is widely
used in speech; argot and jargon refer to the unique vocabulary used by a professional
or trade group and not shared outside.
6. Dialect and Accent : their differences are the way utterence, grammar, and vocab.
Every person has an individual way of speaking, called an Idiolect.

e.g Accent : bebek and bebek.

e.g Dialect : color and colour.
