ABSTRACT
Writing is very important in learning English as the pupils will be able to transfer and
express their ideas on papers if they can write well besides speaking. This research
focuses to improve pupils penmanship of only stem and caudate letters; b, g, k, q, t
and y, using the Fat-tastic Board. The research objectives are to enhance the pupils
penmanship and evaluate their interest. 2 pupils from 5 Bersih were chosen as
research participants because they did not write stem and caudate letters accordingly.
Thus, the Fat-tastic Board had been used to help them enhance their penmanship of
the letters, and attract them to write better through the concept of trace and write. The
findings have shown that the pupils have improved their penmanship of the letters
after using the Fat-tastic Board. Besides, through observation and interview, the
pupils have agreed that using the Fat-tastic Board is effective as it helps to enhance
their penmanship of b, g, k, q, t and y letters. The pupils said they enjoyed using the
Fat-tastic Board because it is simple and easy to use. This research teaches me to
be a better teacher in the future, focusing not only on teaching but also in enhancing
the pupils each skill too. The pupils showed positive feedbacks but I hope I can make
the Fat-Tastic Board has a better appearance in the future and increase its
effectiveness by using beads to trigger the pupils sensory motor of touch.

ABSTRAK
Penulisan adalah sangat penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggeris kerana selain
melalui bercakap, murid juga boleh menyampaikan idea mereka dengan baik melalui
menulis. Kajian ini memberi fokus kepada memperbaiki penulisan huruf-huruf yang
mempunyai batang dan ekor; b, g, k, q, t dan y, melalui penggunaan Papan Fat-tastic.
Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk memperbaiki tulisan murid dan menilai tahap minat
mereka. Dua murid daripada kelas 5 Bersih telah dipilih sebagai peserta kajian kerana
mereka tidak boleh menulis huruf-huruf tersebut seperti sepatutnya. Oleh itu, Papan
Fat-tastic telah digunakan untuk memperbaiki penulisan murid-murid ini dan menarik
minat mereka untuk menulis melalui konsep tekap dan tulis. Dua peserta kajian
adalah murid daripada satu sekolah di Jerteh. Dapatan kajian telah menunjukkan
bahawa para murid telah berjaya memperbaiki tulisan mereka selepas menggunakan
Papan Fat-tastic. Selain itu, melalui pemerhatian dan temubual, murid-murid tersebut
telah bersetuju bahawa penggunaan Papan Fat-tastic adalah efektif kerana ia
membantu mereka memperbaiki tulisan mereka. Para murid tersebut juga
mengatakan bahawa mereka seronok menggunakan Papan Fat-tastic kerana ia
senang untuk digunakan. Kajian tindakan ini mengajar saya untuk menjadi seorang
guru yang lebih baik pada masa hadapan, yang bukan sahaja tumpu kepada
pengajaran tapi juga dalam meningkatkan skil para murid. Walaupun mendapat
keputusan positif, saya berharap pada masa hadapan saya boleh melakukan
pembaharuan pada penampilan Papan Fat-tastic untuk menjadikan ia lebih menarik
dan menambahkan manik-manik untuk menambahkan kefektifannya untuk
merangsang deria sentuh murid.
