    Subject: Fatal ATV Accident

    On July 28, 2017 at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff's Office received a
    report of a missing person. David Ahlgren, 66, of rural Darwin, had been out spraying weeds on
    his property in the area of 205th Street and CSAH 14, Ellsworth Township. When Ahlgren
    failed to return home family began looking for him and contacted the Sheriff's Office. Deputies
    and family members searched several locations. Approximately an hour after contacting the
    Sheriff's Office, a family member located Ahlgren pinned under his all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in
    a ditch. The Sheriff's Office confirmed the location and found Ahlgren had suffered fatal
    injuries. A preliminary investigation revealed a wheel on the ATV dropped in a wash out. The
    ATV then rolled into the ditch pinning Ahlgren underneath. Dassel Fire and Rescue also
    assisted at the scene.
