Economic Sanctions on Russia: The


Y Y Y Y Y House voted, 419-3, to establish a process
for Congress to prohibit any U.S. president
from easing or removing U.S. economic
sanctions on Russia. A yes vote was to pass
a bill (HR 3364) that also broadens U.S.
sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea.
$800 Billion in 2018 Spending: The House
Y Y N N N passed, 235-192, four fiscal 2018
appropriations bills totaling nearly $800
billion, including $658 billion for basic military
operations and actions in war zones. A yes
vote backed HR 3219 over objections to its
funding a Mexico border wall.
Cut for Budget Office: The House rejected,
Y N N N N 107-314, a bid to cut the Congressional
Budget Offices 2018 budget by half, or $25.4
million, as a penalty for what critics said were
grossly inaccurate forecasts years ago of the
eventual number of Affordable Care Act

Economic Sanctions on Russia: The
Y Y Senate voted, 98-2, to send President Trump
a bill (HR 3364, above) to step up U.S.
economic sanctions on Russia, Iran and
North Korea while prohibiting any U.S.
president from easing or lifting sanctions on
Russia without the approval of Congress.
