Introduction

The specialist Patrick Blanc developed this technique in France in the 1980s, "which
consists of a method that integrates gardening, or in some cases, landscaping to
architecture, covering facades with light, durable materials that do not affect No case
the structure and instead protects it from external factors such as humidity and
temperature.
The facades covered with vines and ivy are traditional in many countries; This
concept was taken up in other places and adapted to the new needs, giving a turn
towards the sustainable and ecological allowing to cultivate different plants in
different zones and urban spaces, hydroponics innovated this concept with its
efficiency and easy installation, being very used in urban areas; Since it allows the
growth of a wide variety of species, with a greater biomass by the great diversity of
plants, in addition the green walls can be installed the same in the exterior that in
the interiors of the buildings.
More and more architects and interior designers take advantage of green walls to
create sustainable natural environments in offices, apartments, clubs and modern
public buildings, and people are becoming more familiar with this form of culture and
have implemented it Homemade in their home either ornamentally or to produce
their own vegetables for consumption.
The benefits are several, in addition to providing a higher quality of life in buildings
there is greater thermal stability inside the building, as the green wall acts as an
insulation, reduces the impact of solar radiation and heat loss; Rainwater is retained
and used better, also reduces noise inside the building, The evotranspiration of
plants contributes to refresh the environment and reduces the effect of "urban heat
island", also the presence of vegetation contributes to decrease the stress in people.
In the autonomous university of Queretaro it is important to use green walls, mainly
by sight, which generates great benefits, it is expected to use an irrigation system
suitable for plants.

Objective

Develop a green wall benefiting the space, taking advantage of the new techniques
and technologies that can be applied.
Description of the proyect

Location of the green wall

The green wall is proposed in the city of Queretaro, Mexico within the Universidad
Autonoma de Queretaro (UAQ), at the University Center (Cerro de las Campanas, s
/ n, Las Campanas, Centro Universitario, 76010 Santiago de Quertaro, ) Within the
Faculty of Engineering.
The green wall will be found between the Faculty of Engineering and the University
circuit (Exit February 5), for the football stadium of the university.

Photographs obtained from the place, of the green wall for its location in a more
vicible way.

Epanet results

The "Epanet" program was used to simulate the pipe to reach the storage tank, at
w4the top of the squash court, and then, by gravity, the distribution of the water
needed for the plants in the green wall.
In the following image the distances, and heights obtained by a previous work of
topography were captured, obtaining the difference of heights. It is seen in the
storage tank that the pressure is negative, and this is thank you means that it
requires a pump or a pipe diameter in May, the problem of the larger diameter is how
clogging it can become since it is a place on the way.
We note that the negative pressure can be solved by the pump.
So that the pressure was not negative and even the program would allow us to run
it, we put a pump to increase the pressure and avoid the negative. The pump is
placed between the pipes where there is an increase in height differences. (Pipes 5
and 8)

In the following image we can observe the demand of all the points, as in the only
place that we are interested in storing water is at the end because there is the
demand, and at the beginning a negative demand since it is coming out of the water.
According to the heights obtained in the field by means of the measurement with a
topographic equipment (total station) the heights that were presented in the following
image were obtained.

The tables give us as results the following values, the first table is the links and the
second is the nodes, the data emitted are by the program mentioned above (Epanet).
