Identifing Angles and Congruenacy

TEKS 8.10 A,B

Two-dimensional shapes. The student applies mathematical process standards to develop

transformational geometry concepts. The student is expected to:

(A) generalize the properties of orientation and congruence of rotations,

reflections, translations, and dilations of two-dimensional shapes on a coordinate
plane;

(B) differentiate between transformations that preserve congruence and those that
do not;

Objective: Students will be able to identify between angles and congruent using
sorting cards and drawing geometric shapes.

8/SortingPolygons-AS-Cards.pdf

Whole lesson: https://illuminations.nctm.org/Lesson.aspx?id=1072

How the lesson pertains to my class room:

1. Students will be able to identify vocabulary using geometric terminology

2. Students will be able to draw shapes on a separate piece of paper and use the sorting cards to
match them.
