Co. and the Competition Commission of India, with Lexis Nexis as the knowledge and research partner. ‘Our student Mukul Krishna Vyas has been awarded Law ‘Student of the Year 2016 award by the Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy and Training (MILAT) and Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) for his outstanding work in Legal Aid and PIL advocacy. ‘Our alumnus Abhijay Negi has been awarded the Louis Dreyfus Weidenfeld Hoffmann Scholarship to complete BCL at Oxford University for the academic year 2016-17. He is a much acclaimed legal scholar with a string of recognitions to his credit including Law Student of the Year 2016 award by MILAT and SILF, Damodarshree Award for 2011 and winner of Herbert Smith Free Hills (HSF) National Competition on Social Work 2016 for his NGO CLAT COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST 2017 Making a Difference by being the Difference. The alumni of Batch of 2016 has ilustrious scholarships to its credit with Mr. Akhil Raina winning a scholarship for Masters in International Economic Law and Policy, Universitat de Barcelona; Mr. AravindViswanath gaining a scholarship for International Sports Law LLM. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Lawand Justice chaired by Hon'ble Dr. E.M. SudarsanaNatchiappan, Member of Parliament were on the University campus for a study visit fon 29 January 2016 with aprimary focus on the recent programmes launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister In 2016, the University organized an NCW sponsored seminar on the theme ‘Insuranceas a vehicle for weaving social security system for women’ on 26 and 27February, 2016; the Oxford University-Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) )} NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, JODHPUR International Lecture Programme (ILP), 2016 was ‘conducted by Mr. Chris Parsons, Chairman of the India Practice for HSF, and Professor Timothy Endicott, Professor of Legal Philosophy at Oxford University from 14-48 March, 2016; the Centre for Legal Theory organized the First Round Table Colloquium on the theme ‘Should State Enforce Morality’ on 1 Apri, 2016; the University launched its BRICS Law Institute with the opening ceremony marked by a three Day Academic Forum on ‘Developing A Conducive Legal Framework For Enhancing Trade And Economic Cooperation Amongst BRICS Nations’ from 8-10 April, 2016;.a four day workshop ‘on ‘Impact of globalization on national legal systems, resurgence of legal pluralism, law & economics of technology innovation, regulatory culture & regulatory ‘competition’ was organized under the aegis of MHRD-IPR Chair from 25-28 August, 2016 by Prof. Jane Winn, Professor of aw, University of Washington, School of Law. ‘The 1st CARTAL Conference on Intemational Arbitration - Arbitration at Crossroads was organized on 15-16 October, 2016. The Conference was institutionally ‘supported by ICC, SIAC, HKIAG, MCIA and ClArb and the Society of Indian Law Firms. Beyond the rigorous and regularity of our Halls of Leaming, a vibrant student life plays out vividly across ‘campus in organized as well as spontaneous activites. The Halls of Learning (I & I!) Video Conferencing Hall, Administrative Block, Library Block, Halls of Residence, Mess Block, multi facility Recreational Centre, Auditorium, Insurance Block, ‘Amphitheatre and Convention Centre for students are all planned as models of aesthetic and utiitarian perfection. ‘The Halls of Residence offer single seater rooms to each student on campus, insuring privacy and adequate repose while simultaneously availing of the multiple benefits of a residential campus and close interaction with a vibrant academic community. The NLUJ Library is ranked as the foremostlibrary in the state of Rajasthan, The fundamental mission at NLUJ is to provide its students with the knowledge, skills, and ethical values needed for a career in the law. Course Structure NLU4follows a semester system with each academic year comprising of two semesters and with 6 subjects prescribed for study in each semester. Specializations are offered in 4 and 5 year in Business Law, Trade and Investment Law, Criminal Law, Intellectual Property Law and Constitutional Law. Besides honors courses, number of specialized optional courses like Health Law, Media Law, Sports Law, Entertainment Law, Competition Law, International Humanitarian Law, Comparative Intemational Law ete. are offered as per requirement and availabilty of expertise. The LLM programme aims at disseminating a wider knowledge of contemporary demands and applicability of laws in specialized scenarios and also encourages the post-graduate students to identify and carve out newer approaches to the study of law. CLAT COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST 2017 Course Structure The LL.M. programme is based on semester system with general and specialized courses on offer in each semester. Dissertation writing is emphasised upon strongly and sees its inception in the first semester itself. The programme sseeks to build legal scholarship for the future in diverse arenas oflaw.
