Assistant Finance Controller, November 2016 to Present
Overseeing $30M budget and supervising 9-member team. Managing remotely 3 field offices inside Syria
and direct manage of 3 program offices in Turkey. Multi sector grant. Consortium grants. 290 national
staffs inside Turkey and Syria. Implementing program activities in Turkey and Syria in 8 locations.
Major responsibilities:

Preparation and maintenance of the countrys Operating Budget to ensure data is complete and
maintained on a timely basis.
Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with IRC and donor policies, procedures,
and requirements.
Developing budget proposals of DIFD, UN agencies, ECHO, SV, SIDA, SDC, EC,..ect, budget
realignment, reviewing spending plan and donor financial reporting.
Managing more than 10 sub-grantees (partner) over $4M budget, assessing their capacity, arranging
building capacity training and reviewing financial reports.
Establishes a finance department roles and responsibilities matrix, outlines and updates relevant job
descriptions; recruits and maintains adequate numbers of qualified staff to perform finance functions.
Acting as finance controller providing analytical report and solutions to country director during finance
controller absence.
Leading internal and external audit, following up government audit of yearly financial statements.
Analysis of actual to budget results to identify problems in accounting or compliance.
Supervising month end closing expenditures and sending the export file to regional finance controller.
Analyzing balance sheet reconciliation on monthly basis and reconciling with HQ records.
