As per standard law of thermodynamics (available in all text books of thermodynamics) the adiabatic heat of
compression causes the temperature rise of the discharge air during compression and the temperature rise depends
on the compression ratio (P2/P1).
For Roots blowers, the compression is Polytropic and as a thumb rule temperature rise is taken as about 8-10C above
inlet for every 1000 MMWG increase in discharge pressure.
For a 5000 mmWG discharge pressure the estimated temperature rise would be 40-50C, which is normal and bound
to occur.
Since the blower and the piping are not thermally insulated, there would be loss to atmosphere and the temp rise
observed should be lower.
