Dear Editor,

As a Christian who is concerned with deep issues of metaphysics, I read your article on Buddhism in
Australia (Agenda, May 27) with interest. One Buddhist monk quoted therein, the Rev. Shin, opined that
Westerners are turning to Buddhism because in [Christian] churches the only thing that they can do is
listen, they cant ask questions. I invite Rev. Shin to come to St Pauls Anglican Church, Castle Hill I am a
member of that churchs congregation where he will not only be welcomed lovingly, but will find that he
is perfectly free to ask any question he likes.

Yours sincerely,

Ian Shanahan.
