Left or right

Hi Saloomi, we have been doing a lot of art work these past few weeks and I have
been noticing you are using your left hand more than your right. When you pick
something up you pick it up in your right hand then transfer it to your left. However
if its food you know to use your right hand, and when I ask you show me your right
hand you wave the right hand.

Today when you were drawing you got so excited with ever circle and line you drew,
teacher, teacher youd say pointing to what you had done and the more I praised
you the busier you got, wow Saloomi that is awesome youd look at me and smile
happy in the fact that you were creating a masterpiece. On occasions I noticed you
watching what Aemon was drawing and you would copy. You have also learnt that
when you finish with the pencils or felt pens you always put them away nicely.
Ma Sha Allah Saloomi keep up the good work.

Te Whariki: Empowerment/Whakamana:
Principle: Early childhood curriculum empowers the child to learn and grow. Teachers have an
important role in encouraging and supporting all children to participate in and contribute to a wide
range of enriching experiences. These expand the childrens competence and confidence and,
over time, enable them to direct their own lives.
