Local teams play it forward

With the start of another season of football, nine teams came together and went head to head during a two-day flag football tournament, fundraising for a
cause. In memory of childhood friend Lashawn Jamison, local resident Jeremy Johnson hosted the fundraiser event, Play It Forward, at Miller Park, to
provide financial support to the Jamison family since their loss of a loved one. Johnson said, I love my town and I love coming together as a community to
get stuff done. You can feel the love from every corner of this town. Bringing the community together to help support the drowning victims family, Johnson
said it truly made him happy receiving the support of family and friends. Im BEYOND proud of all nine teams this year, regardless of the heat, everyone
went out and did an amazing job and gave it their all, Johnson said. Teams not pictured are Triple B, with team captain Jose Aguirre and Old Schoolers,
headed by Ryan Copple.

Locals gathered at Miller Park on Saturday and Sunday to watch the nine teams, Play it
Forward, in honor of the memory of Lashawn Jamison. Fundraising on behalf of the Jamison
family, only one team walked away as the 2017 Champs of the Jamison Memorial flag football
tournament.
