5 Days 4 Nights Melbourne Package Tour


Ballarat, Grampians, Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island Penguin, Yarra Valley 5-day tour
in Melbourne. On this 5/4 nights tour, visit the famous gold mining town of Ballarat,
sightseeing around the surrounding beauty in Grampians, the mighty Great Ocean Road
and 12 Apostles the famous limestone stacks that are visited by 7 million people each
year. Day 4: Phillip Island to witness the beautiful little penguins coming back to their nest
on and near the beach of Summerlands. Ride Australias famous and oldest steam train,
Puffing Billy and visit Yarra Valley on the last day!

Highlights:

Day 1: Ballarat & Sovereign Hill (MT, L)


Pick up from Melbourne airport or your place of stay in Melbourne
Head north to the famous Goldfields of Victoria
First stop at the township of Bacchus Marsh for morning tea (coffee/tea and hot and cold food
at bakery) and toilet break. {visit the farming and fruit bowl area of Bacchus Marsh, visit a
strawberry farm (October to March) - pick up fresh strawberries ($10 AUD per kilo, own
expense)
Explore and take photographs of the famous gold mining town of Ballarat
Visit the Botanical Gardens and Lake Wendouree - home of the 1956 Olympics for many
rowing events for men only
Lunch
After lunch, head to Ballarat Sovereign Hill to explore the theme park try out gold panning,
visit the underground gold mine, and many stores that are from the 1850s period
Visit the Gold museum - learn about the gold of the area
Overnight stay at Stawell after dinner at either Ballarat, Ararat or Stawell (Chinese and Western
restaurants, Halal food is available too)
Accommodation: Coorrabin Motor Inn (with nice warm beds, private bathrooms and showers,
free wifi and continental breakfast)

Day 2: Grampians to Warnaambool (B, L)


After breakfast, explore the gold mining town of Stawell (town views and observatory hill) a
great place for taking photographs.
Head to the Grampians, main attraction: Australian kangaroos
Booroka Lookout - a great place to see the town of Halls Gap and the surrounding beauty
Reeds Lookout and The balconies - view and take photographs of the awesome Grampians
McKenzies Falls - explore this great waterfall
Aboriginal culture centre
Lake Bellfield - a popular tourist spot
Accommodation: Warrnambool Colonial Village Motel (self-contained accommodation
specialist situated in quiet North Warrnambool)

Day 3: Great Ocean road 12 Apostles (B, L)

After Breakfast, head out of Warnaambool along the mighty Great Ocean road and 12 Apostles.
Allansford Cheese World - free cheese tasting and visit the Cheese museum.
London Bridge - fallen down since 1990
Port Campbell - a great place with its great little habour and beach
Loch Ard Gorge - home of the famous Loch Ard ship disaster and great place for pictures
12 Apostles, these famous limestone stacks are visited by 7 million people each year
Apollo Bay - Quaint seaside town stop for lunch (Western, Chinese, Vegetarian, Halal food is
available)
Kenneth river - Spot wild koalas and beautiful coloured native birds
Lorne - beautiful bay area from Lorne pier.
Memorial Arch - dedicated to the 3000 men that built the Great Ocean Road
Splits Point Lighthouse - the last light house to be built on the beautiful shipwreck coast
Geelong Victoria - second biggest city

Accommodation:Best Western Apartments Geelong (free wifi, private rooms, family rooms etc.)

shopping centre, restaurants, as everything is walking distance from the hotel. [own
arrangement])

Day 4: Phillip Island Penguin (B, D)

After breakfast, explore the city of the Geelong.


Cunningham Pier and its beautiful Corio Bay
Queen scliff to catch the Queens cliff- Sorrento vehicle passenger ferry that crosses Port Phillip
Bay heading for the Morning ton peninsula.
Maru Koala Park pat and hand feed the koalas, kangaroos and many more Australian native
animals
Pannys chocolate - try samples of chocolate
The Nobbies - wildlife reserve, great views of the water and ancient cliffs, may see many
wildlife including penguins, wallabies, seagulls
The famous Penguin Parade - watch the amazing parade of little penguins that come to shore
each night.

After (Winter time), Before (Summer time) the Penguin Parade - dinner at Wing Ho restaurant
(6-course banquet with Chinese tea) or Jessies Pizza (Halal)

Day 5: Puffing Billy/ Yarra valley (B, L)

After breakfast, Puffing Billy, ride on Australias most famous and oldest steam train. Travel
one way from Belgrave to Lakeside - one hour trip
Lunch at Healesville Chinese restaurant or Lunch either at Hillbilly Farm Silvan - sample
Manuka honey and many other Aussie favorites while waiting for the food. (October-March -
visit Warratina Lavender Farm)
Yarra Valley Chocolate
2 wineries of your choice for wine tasting.
Return to Melbourne city to have dinner (own expense) or to drop off at hotel or airport

Note: Stay is based on triple sharing rooms
