It is mandatory for undergraduate students to complete two open elective courses before the
completion of the Fourth Semester. Students who fail to complete this requirement are not
eligible for graduation.
Open electives are offered under two categories: a) Generic electives b) Skill Enhancement
Electives
You have the option of choosing only one course either from skill enhancement or generic
elective in a semester.
You should complete either two courses under generic category or one course each from
generic category and skill enhancement category before the completion of fourth semester but
can choose courses from any category as optional once mandatory requirement of two courses
is completed
All courses will earn two credits consisting of 45-hours of theory classes and 60 hours for those
with practicals.
Evaluation pattern is continuous and comprehensive with 50% for CIA and 50% for ESE.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Medical leave and co curricular leave will be considered only if the student has minimum of
75 % of attendance (physical presence)
Medical leave will be considered after submitting the leave application in the prescribed blue
form in IPM along with regular subjects
Students have the option to miss maximum 15% of total hours to take part in extracurricular
activities or for any other reasons.
Co curricular leave applications can be submitted to office of examinations within a week
with the signature of the faculty in charge the activity
All claims will be considered only at the end of the course after verifying the minimum
requirement of attendance.
If a student miss classes beyond the permissible limit of 15% due to reasons beyond his/her
control they can contact Controller Of Examinations (COE) immediately
If a student fails to secure the minimum attendance/pass marks or discontinue in between the
course, he/she need to register afresh by paying applicable course fees. Re-registration is
permitted only in the subsequent semester which may be for the same course or for any other
courses from the choices available during the particular semester.
